Watch HOME TOWN FARMSĀ®.. Vertical Organic Urban Farming Video HOME TOWN FARMSĀ®.. Vertical Organic Urban Farming
May 19, 2012
Home Town Farms combines proven vertical farming (growing) technologies in such a way that drastically reduces the amount of water, fuel, fertilizer, packaging and land that traditional farms use to grow the same amount of food. Home Town Farms will virtually eliminate the cost of transporting produce hundreds if not thousands of miles by setting up vertical farms in densely populated areas with direct to consumer sales, on location where the food is grown in addition to wholesale sales to local farmers markets, restaurants and grocery stores. Urban Farming that is economically viable today!

The majestic Emu is to be found completely at home in Orissa's Pitatoli village, making it hard to believe that their original habitat is several thousand miles away in Australia. These birds were hatched and raised here in the past two years under the loving care of D Mohan Reddy, a rural medical practitioner, who was inspired by the successful Emu farms in the neighbouring Andhra Pradesh.

May 09, 2012
This is my first video in a series called The Flower Pot Farmer. Growing food in containers is easy instructions. I want people to see that anybody can grow vegetables in a flower pot. We did it. There is something nice knowing that nobody else's hands ever touched your food. You do not need pesticides. You can grow organic. You do not need a plot of earth or a traditional garden to enjoy growing fresh food. If you have limited growing space, if you live in an apartment or in the city, you can still grow your own vegetables, tomatoes, cucumbers, strawberries and yes even grow corn in a flower pot. All you need is the right combination of soil, seeds, and sunlight. Enjoy the video...and let us hear from you! The Flower Pot Farmer Asheville,NC

How to capture, cultivate, preserve, and use Lactic Acid Bacteria - IMO - using the techniques of Korean Natural Farming. Using materials readily at home or off of the grocery store shelf I will demonstrate step by step the process. Lactic acid bacteria is an excellent natural digester of organic matter, recycler of nutrients, foul odor arrestor, suppressant of pathogens in the soil and on plant surfaces. It is a naturally occurring, indigenous, non-GMO, organic microbe. There are several sources that describe in writing and pictures how to do the process; however, I have not found one video that shows step by step the "How and Why" of making your own Lacto. Many thanks to the teachers whom I have never met (Master Cho - Cho Global Natural Farming, Mr Gil Carandang of Herbana Farms - Philippines, Mrs. Kim CS Chang and Dr Hoon Park, MD -retired - Hawaii). Their writings have allowed me to learn, use, and now show you all the technique. I hope you enjoy!

How to capture, cultivate, preserve, and use Indigenous Microorganisms - IMO - using the techniques of Korean Natural Farming. Using materials readily at home or off of the grocery store shelf I will demonstrate step by step the process. Indigenous Microorganism are collected and used to re-populate the soil's micro-sphere and the plant's surfaces - bringing them back into balance. This balance serves as the foundation for a healthy soil biology, productive nutrient recycling, and optimized plant growth/production. IMO are naturally occurring, indigenous, non-GMO, organic microbes from bacterial and fungal sources that have uniquely evolved to thrive in your particular area. They can be cultivated to even support specific plants and crops. Through "Bio-Mimickery" you can use IMO to work with nature and achieve results in the garden and its soil in days/weeks/months that would take years/decades - even centuries - otherwise. There are several sources that describe in writing and pictures how to do the process; however, I have not found one video that shows step by step the "How and Why" of making your own Indigenous Microbes. Thanks to the teachers whom I have never met (Master Cho - Cho Global Natural Farming, Mr Gil Carandang of Herbana Farms - Philippines, Mrs. Kim CS Chang and Dr Hoon Park, MD -retired - Hawaii). Before the Thug dies, load your last checkpoint and travel back to the same place and repeat. *You can kill him but don't grab the keys off his body*

Watch The Appeal of Urban Farming Video The Appeal of Urban Farming

This is the VOA Special English Agriculture Report, from voaspecialenglish.com | http Old properties and empty lots in cities and towns around the United States are finding new life as urban farms. EcoCity Farms in Edmonston, Maryland, is located near shopping centers, car repair shops and homes. The neighborhood is a working-class community. People do not have very much money, and they have limited access to fresh food in markets. Over the past two years, the farm has attracted volunteers from the community like Marcy Clark. She schools her four children at home. On a recent day she brought them to EcoCity Farms for a lesson. Her children harvested rows of spinach, mustard greens, lettuce, Swiss chard and carrots. "It's important that the children understand the connection between the food that they eat, the soil, the air, the pollution, how all this is connected to their well-being," she says. Her son Alston agrees: "You connect with the earth, where your food comes from. You appreciate the food a little bit more." Margaret Morgan-Hubbard started EcoCity Farms. She thinks of it as a place where people can learn to live healthier lives. "Our view is that what happens in a community, influences the culture of that community. So our idea was growing food in a community and showing that you can have farms even in urban areas, redefines what's possible in that area, in that community and brings people together." "Every piece of what we do here is a demonstration to show ...
